MTECH now offers Quickbooks and Computer consulting as part of our services! Bart Mitchell has been an integral part of MTECH, but primarily helping in the background. When not helping MTECH, he has been providing Quickbooks and general business operations consulting through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for the past 8 years. He now offers these same services for MTECH on Thursdays and Fridays each week.

With 17 years’ experience in corporations and 10+ years in private business, Bart Mitchell counsels on topics from management and growth, to financials and manufacturing processes. Bart spent 4 years at Siemens Medical Systems and 13 at GE Medical. After starting out as an electronics engineer at GE Medical, Bart segued into management, running a 55-employee call center and then moving into acquisitions and integrations as well as running a division for GE.

After leaving GE, Bart then spent time consulting on at MTECH, then started his job as director for Archuleta Economic Development Association (now known as the Pagosa Springs Community Development Corporation). “That’s where all the business mentoring came into picture with the SBDC,” explains Bart, a certified SBA counselor.” Although not an accountant, Mitchell counsels on financials as well: “I do a lot of business analysis and help clients learn how to use QuickBooks.”

Through his involvement in economic development, Mitchell met the owners of Pagosa-based Growing Spaces and eventually went to work for the company as general manager. “I helped get them going and saw them blessed with growth and winning the ‘Colorado Companies to Watch’ honor. We put a lot of manufacturing processes and business systems into place to get them ready for second-stage growth.”

Although Mitchell left Growing Spaces in January of 2012, he still consults on the business regularly while working part-time at MTECH and part-time as a worship pastor at Centerpoint Church in Pagosa.
